Bringing a Little Class to The Concert Hall

As someone who was intimidated by chord names in some of Berklee’s jazzier classes, it was great to sit in Abby’s Joni Mitchell guitar lab and learn songs mainly by following chord shapes. ‘Long Way To Go’ (above, with Jordan Alegant, in the Berklee Performance Center) was written using the chord shapes in Joni’s ‘Both Sides Now’ (tuning: D A D F# A D ). I met Jordan through that class, and we wrote ‘The Start Of Nothin’ together many years later.
